I went to New York City!
Thanksgiving weekend was spent in NYC. I got to detach myself from the group briefly and traipse on over to Soho and go to Purl. Got some yumminess there for a scarf as a gift (wool silk blend from the fibre co.) and some seriously wacky handspun for a scarf for me.
And of course 2 skeins of koigu, because I buy 2 skeins of koigu in any shop I visit that carries it.
Photos later for the sake of colorways. :)
The Trellis I'm working on for my sister's baby is at a standstill because I knit the front completely wrong on one side. As in, this-kid-is-going-to-have-his-or-her-collar-coming-out-of-an-armhole wrong. Grrrr... this is after having to rip out sections because they were too short due to me missing whole paragraphs of instruction. I was doing much better on this while knitting it during jury duty.
The piece I am making progress on is another baby sweater -- the placket neck pullover from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I'm making it out of some Suss cotton I got in a poncho kit years back, so the gauge is slightly different, and it's striking me as a bit wide, but it's still super cute. I messed up the decreases on the yoke on that one and ripped back last night, then realized I was probably better off with those decreases. Oh well, live and learn.
BTW, I don't know if I've mentioned it here yet or not, but I've been on ravelry.com for a while now, and am wittyknits over there too if you want to drop in for a peek.
