Sockapalooza socks: Finished!

I'm done! I'm done!

Well, they're blocking still, but I'm done!
They're fairly simple, but I think my sockapaloooza pal will still like them.

Pattern: Twisted Rib Crazy Socks from January 2 of the 2006 Knitting Pattern a Day Calendar
Needles: Crystal Palace US 3 dpns
Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit

The only other thing really on my needles right now is the Angelina jacket, but I'm not convinced my yarn choice is correct, plus, there's a skirt pattern in the new issue of spun magazine that is in the yarn I chose, so I may rip that back out (yes, it's mohair -- ugh). So, next up, I'm returning to work on Carlotta, so that I can hopefully enter it in the fair!

Mobile knitting and miscellany

Well, not a whole lot of knitting has been going on, as we are a mere 4 days away from First Blood, my first roller derby bout as a part of the Ohio Roller Girls. But I've been getting spare moments here and there, so I am about 75% of the way done on my Sockapaloooza pal's socks. So far, I've gotten tons of compliments on the yarn, so I hope my pal likes them as much as I do.

In the meantime, I will post a little contest entry here. Kat knits is having a contest about odd places you've knitted. I daresay it's right up my alley. So here's my list:

1. Walking down High Street in Columbus (yarn in backpack, circular needles, cabling without cable needle).
2. In the local second run theatre, while drinking beer and watching "Fight Club."
3. On the patio of my favorite bar while soaking up sun and lemonade with a bunch of non-knitting friends.
4. At a party/meeting for my roller derby league.
5. At ComFest while watching the pride parade.

I tried to pick the most interesting ones. It's hard, because for a while there, I was becoming a neighborhood character with all the knitting everywhere I went.

With the derby schedule, most of my knitting has been of the portable kind lately, so this might be the summer of the sock. I'm gonna try to sew up that tank I finished knitting a few weeks back pretty soon, and start another one from VK, but socks seem to be where it's at.

I fear the yarn I'm using for my angelina jacket is far too lightweight for it after having seen what some others are using, so that might be back to the drawing board...again!

Also, I am going to be doing some destashing in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes here for some yarn deals. I'm not sure whether I'll be doing it on Knitter's Review, ebay, or just here, but I'm figuring it out.
